We are family

We believe the church is meant to be awesome, Biblical, relevant, influential and a true representation of Jesus Christ and the family of God.

What we believe

Who we are

As a charismatic, evangelical free church, we believe in the living God who speaks and acts today.

We believe in God, who created this wonderful world and gave us the gift of His Son Jesus. We believe Jesus died for us, was brought to life again, and today offers us forgiveness, eternal life and abundant life here on earth.

We believe in the Holy Spirit — through whom we experience the living presence of God in our everyday lives. He makes everything that Jesus accomplished real and personal for each of us. And we believe the Spirit gives us gifts that help us grow, serve, and step into the calling God has for us.

We believe in you — and that God has a plan and purpose for your life. Discovering Him and pursuing your destiny is the most amazing, most worthwhile and most adventurous thing you could ever do.

What drives us

Vision & Mission
Our Vision
We are building an apostolic family, where everyone loves and pursues the presence of God, everyone is seen and valued, and everyone is equipped and sent.

Our vision rests on three pillars that describe the whole life of our church.

God’s Presence

The source of everything we do. We are first and foremost a people who step into the presence of God — in worship, prayer, and the prophetic. Without this, everything else is incidental activity.

Apostolic Family

We are not simply a group gathered around a shared interest. We are a house, a family of the people of God — with the bonds, the warmth, and the care that family life brings. That is why we speak of brothers and sisters, not members and customers.

Equipped & Sent

A family that only looks inward is not the family God has in mind. We are a people equipped through the Word and through teaching, who raise up the next generation, and who are sent with the gospel into our city.

Our Mission
Transformation, Salvation, and Celebration — for Munich and beyond.

This is the reason we do what we do — the reason we get up every morning.

Jesus is about the restoration of all things. Transformation is at the heart of what God is doing in our world, in our city, and in our lives. This includes salvation — people discovering the love of Christ and being made whole. And it leads to celebration — because Jesus has lifted us back into participation in the very life of God. That is worth celebrating.

A house of prayer for all nations

One family, many nations

Hope Church is an international church home for people from more than 40 nations — where expats, locals, and seekers discover their calling and become a blessing to Munich. So we are more than an international family — we are a kingdom family. Whether just for a season or permanently, so many have found a home here with us in Munich.

Carried together

How we’re led

Hope Church is led by a Core Leadership Team — a team of leaders who share the shepherding responsibility together, not a single individual. We are accompanied by external apostolic voices who walk with us, challenge us, and help us grow.

Beyond the CLT, Hope Church is supported by a wider leadership team, with people taking responsibility for different ministry areas across the life of the church.

We believe leadership is best when it is relational, accountable, and carried together — like a family, not like a corporation.

Meet the team

Our leadership

Martin & Heike Spreer

Lead Pastors

Following God’s call, Martin and Heike came to Munich in August 2023 with their five children. Martin previously pastored in Duisburg for over 17 years; Heike ministers mainly in the prophetic, having led schools of prophecy for over 8 years. Together they long to see the church live fully in the finished work of the cross.

Jason & Dani McAllister

Children’s Ministry & Administration

Jason has been part of the church since the very beginning, mostly in the children’s work. As our children’s pastor, he has a contagious passion to see children grow in their relationship with God in fun- and faith-filled ways. Dani serves behind the scenes in the church’s financial administration, keeping things running smoothly.

Jennie Humphreys

Church Administrator

Jennie is our church administrator (since 2016) and the communication hub of church life at Hope Church Munich. She is also a key part of our pastoral team, with a heart to see people integrated into the body of Christ and flourish. Jennie is married to Mark and they have two children.

Ute Leppert

Prophetic Ministry

Ute has been part of Hope Church since its early days and serves with a strong prophetic gifting. She brings a deep sensitivity to the voice of the Holy Spirit and a passion for encouraging others to hear God for themselves.

Yakubu & Veronika Yakubu

Worship & Leadership

Yakubu and Veronika have been part of Hope Church for several years. They serve faithfully in our worship ministry, and Yakubu brings leadership experience from his time serving in Hungary. Together they enrich the life of the church with warmth and dedication.

Eva van Iterson

Counseling

Eva has been with Hope Church for several years and is currently training in counseling. She is helping to build up this ministry at Hope Church — creating a culture where people are truly seen, supported, and walked alongside in every season of life.
